Sara Mastro
Director of Interactive Strategy and User Experience

Sara leads Mediabarn’s project management and user experience practice. Prior to joining Mediabarn, Sara was Director of User Experience at Discovery Education and was responsible for design and usability for all K-12 online products including Discovery Education streaming Plus and Discovery Education Science. While at Discovery Education, she also led all efforts for focus groups and usability testing nationwide with both children and educators. Prior to working at Discovery, Sara was User Experience Director at WeatherBug where she was responsible for design and testing of their consumer, mobile, and educational products.
Sara brings an expertise in Information Design and User Experience to Mediabarn. She has worked for over 15 years with multimedia companies producing award-winning interactive products and websites for, among many others, Discovery Health, The Jason Project, McGraw Hill, and Houghton Mifflin. Sara started her career at Texas Instruments, developing branding and conducting market research for their personal product lines. While there, she was awarded the Texas Instruments Design Excellence Award.
Sara is an active member of the Usability Professionals Association (UPA) and the Association for Computing Machinery. Sara earned a B.S. in Graphic Design from Florida State University and attended Savannah College of Art and Design for her MFA in Computer Art.
